The olives I have - bnei darom pitted in jar and pitted sliced in a can - both say to check before using (in Hebrew). I've never heard of checking olives. Is this something related to halacha or is this simply "check to make sure you aren't eating an unpitted olive and then feel an urge to sue us" checking?

I never heard of checking olives either. Maybe its just a sort of disclaimer from the hechsher?
