I am designing a cover for a new siddur for DS. I am looking for a quote (in Hebrew and English) to put on it. I am thinking of something to do with light or fire and Torah (or Judaism in general) to form part of the design. I hope it will inspire him whenever he sees it. He is almost 6.
Any suggestions?

maybe something along the lines of
'He who expects nothing shall never be disappointed'?
My sis had that on her door when I was growing up and it really gave me food for thought (although the 6yr olds I know tend not to get the lesson for another yr or so). Basically, Hashem gives us what He knows we need. If we don't have it, we can ask for it, but if He says no, then that's fine, we don't actually need it.
Beautiful idea of yours!

Did you look in Pirkei Avos? It's full of wonderful teachings/quotes.

I know this isn't about light or fire, but one idea would be to use the phrase "Modeh Ani Lefanecha" - since it's the very first thing a child will say each day from the siddur, and it sets the tone for prayer in general.

"Ki ner mitzva ve'Torah or." Loosely translated: A mitzva is like a candle, and the Torah is light.
