My dd is 23 months old and drinks only about 5-6 ounces a day. I'm so worried it isn't enough, but that's all she wants...

Cows milk is not good for anyone so I certainly wouldn't worry about it. She would be fine on no milk too.

My ds is around 25 lbs and the ped recommended 20 oz total, including milk, yogurt and cheese. I'm assuming you're not nursing, right?

In the case that the child is getting enough calcium, fat and vitamins from other sources, fine. How can you make a blanket statement like that??

Afaik and his doctor, cow's milk is very healthy. Especially for a growing young child. He does eat a yogurt almost every day and sometimes a slice of cheese. So I'm guessing the 12-15 ounces of actual milk he drinks should be enough.

ETA: No, I'm not nursing.

Thanks ladies.

ETA Take II: Fixed some grammatical errors like "her" doctor, I have a SON!@ LOL I think I was just thinking about de_goldy's response to capitalchick about her daughter.
