Just went to my local grocery to pickup Materna and they said they can't get any more shipments... A women at the store mentioned that there have been FDA issues recently with importing Materna from Israel.

Anyone hear anything about it?

probably because it's not made locally and they have no supervision over it so theyre having trouble importing it.

I don't think it's true. I subscribe to the FDA's recall alerts, the most recent of which was on 2/20. I haven't seen a single thing on Materna.

yes, it is true, the last order of Materna was banned by FDA. but it's not on all Materna forever, just that particular order. the next one should be ok, it was a case by case basis. not sure what the issue was.

Materna passes FDA inspection? I don't like using it cause I thought it doesn't.

According to the FDA (http://www.accessdata.fda.gov/.....fxId=) this time it's a labeling issue. However, they do have a bit of a history with the contents which may be why the FDA is being so strict.

I checked up the above. The page date is 4/24/09 with a refusal date of 2/18/10.

Some time ago, some infants nebach died because there were certain vital nutrients missing from the formula.

It was Remedia, and it's not the same as Materna.

But no formula is 100% trustworthy with no recalls.

Thank you for the correction ladies!

I guess I mixed up those 2 Israeli brands, as I am not too familiar with them.
