He's not so keen on the jars of fruit or veggies, nor the cereals anymore.
What else can I give him?? Could you also explain how to prepare it so it's not a choking hazard.

Does he already have teeth? Babies at that age love finger foods - bite size foods they can pick up and eat on their own.
At 8 months my baby loved blueberries, cheese, cheerios, avocado, banana (those last two are huge messes ), cooked peas, small chunks of cooked carrots, squash, sweet potato, potato, chicken bones to gnaw on, small pieces of fatty chicken. The list goes on. Just make sure the food is small enough/soft enough in the beginning.

Thanks! He just has 2 bottom front teeth and 1 top front tooth.
Blueberries aren't choking hazards as is? so round and all.
Re cheese, I could just give him tiny pieces of sliced american cheese?
Everything else sounds good. I did try avocado about 3 weeks ago, and he would chew it up and spit it out, and he sort of gagged on it once, so I thought he wasn't ready.

And I want to add, you always need to keep an eye on your baby while he's eating as he may gag on foods. Later on he will gag and remove the food on his own (if he can) but at this age you need to be constantly ready to help him (and do a pinky sweep and remove food from his throat if necessary.)
I don't mean to scare you, but my DD has choked 4-5 times (usually when we let her nibble a big piece of food on her own vs. us cutting it up) and the pinky sweep WORKS every time.

Cut the blueberries in half at first. My dd didn't like avocado at first either. Try again in a few weeks.

Oh and about cheese, be on the lookout for a rash or other signs of allergy the first time you give him some. (I cut up pieces of american cheese. Small, thin and soft.)
Sorry for multiple replies, can't edit my posts from my phone!

Does anyone ever feed eggs? Scrambled, hard boiled, etc.?

Sure DD loves scrambled eggs, hardboiled not so much.
However there is an opinion that kids under 1 shouldn't eat egg white due to allergy risk.
