help for adhd child in montreal

If there are any montrealers here I would love your input.

My 8 year old son is showing signs of adhd/tourrettes. I really feel he needs help, but am confused how to proceed. My pediatrician (who is not the greatest, but I feel lucky to have here in montreal) just gave me a list of psychiatrists and told me to call them. I don't want to just call anyone, I'm not interested in putting my child through an appointment with someone that is not the right fit, or who won't follow up etc. I spoke to someone in his cheder who reccomended I go to the Jewish General child psychology dept. when I called today the lady sounded overwhelmed, and told me she has another 8 people to call back... so I should just wait for her call. I can only imagine once she does call me back how long the wait for the appt. will be.

My son has behavioral issues, he is impulsive, twitches, he can be quite defiant, bothers his siblings constantly, and gets punished a lot in school. I'm totally at my wits end. If there is someone here that has any experience with an adhd child in montreal, I would love to hear who you went to, who helped you and what you can suggest.
