My 7 year old is supposed to have the MMRV vaccine (Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella), but he already had the chicken pox (as in the rash, not the vaccine). Is there any benefit to having the Varicella vaccine also or should I request the vaccine without the Varicella? I believe this is a booster and he never had any chicken pox vaccine.

There is no need to give him varicella vaccine if he already had chicken pox. Ask them to give him the MMR alone
