My dd is almost 9 and she is allergic to any type of earrings. We've tried many kinds, 18k, 14k , gold posts, fake earrings, etc. she starts to bleed and swell up on the area and can't leave them on more than half hour. She's been like that always. Anyway I was wondering if anyone knows if there is suck a thing as magnet earrings or clip on earrings that look nice and are safe? Or any other ideas?

there are. have you tested her for a nickel allergy, though? you can get nickel free jewelry, though it is harder to find, I think.

She doesn't have to wear earrings. I don't and have been totally managing. If she feels left out or upset, get her a pretty necklace instead.

I get an allergic reaction to everything but silver.
What helps is to cover the part of the earring that goes through the ear (the whole hook if they are fasion bangles) with clear nailpolish. No more allergic reactions!!

Nickel allergy is common. One of my sisters is allergic to nickel, which is in most earring. You can get a cheap pair of nickel-free earrings from Claire's or something like that and see how it goes--that's how we figured it out for her. They are marked very clearly, so they are pretty easy to find.
