I may get AYLOR as responses, and I will if I have to, I just dont know if the question is even necessary

Do not dip the machine in water
the trays and metal racks have to be toveled.

Our LOR holds the whole thing (same thing with grills, sandwich makers, urns, etc.) must be completely tovelled. We do so and then let it dry out for at least a week before using. Never had a problem.

do you toivel your regular oven too?

We also toivel the entire appliance when it comes to grills and sandwich makes which have the non-removable plates. And we toivel the entire urn as well.
But for the toaster we only toivel the tray and rack, since those (may) come in direct contact with the food.

Yes, that's what we did. Others "fix" it by dissembling/reassembling it so it's made by a Yid....

I've dipped and then let it dry for several weeks. DH's current Rebbe says that parts that can be removed from electronics do not need to be dunked. I can't remember the reasoning or the source and but he considers it dangerous to do so.

I asked my LOR and he said
there are 3 opinions
1) its dangerous so dont need to dip
2) must dip and leave to dry and hope you didnt break it
3) have a [gentile] to allow you to borrow it (similar to selling your chametz)

Pop up toasters have the biggest shaylah as you cook the bread directly on it.
For an appliance like a grill or sandwich machine with removable racks, you only need to remove the racks and toivel them.
FTR, a week is not a lot of time for an appliance to dry. I know people who wait three weeks or a month.
