do you pin each pleat so it should be nice after the wash ? or just throw in the wash, hang to dry & iron?

I just washed two of my daughter's uniform skirts for the first time. The label said machine wash cold and hang to dry, so that is what I did. When they came out of washing machine they looked pretty good, though may need a little bit of ironing not so much for the pleats but more because the skirts got wrinkled a little in the machine.

When I was in high school (not that many years ago!!!) I dont ever recall ironing my skirts - wash and hang to dry and it should be fine

I usualy wash it on cold, I pin down each pleat and hang it to dry. That way the pleats stay sharp. I never ironed my dd's uniform and she's in 7th grade.

I also wash them on a permanent press cycle (or sometimes gentle cycle if I have other things to wash on gentle) with cold water. I don't pin the pleats or iron them and it still comes out looking great. Maybe by the end of the year, the pleats could do with a little bit of pressing to make them more crisp, but otherwise they're fine. Just don't put them in the dryer! That will ruin the pleats.
