hi. Wondering if anyone has any tips re moving..We are moving from a small apt to a bigger one B"H. I need moving company suggestions, movers to avoid, best places for appliances (we need to buy stackable w/d, good places to get decent quality furniture that's not too expensive. I don't have a lot of time to shop around as we both work full time and have limited time to take off.

For appliances and electrics, go to BUZZ in flatbush on Coney Island avenue.
They might not be THE cheapest but they have great offers and amazing customer service which in my opinion is v.important.
For furniture there is a really great place near lakewood if you can get one sunday to go there. They have really good prices (had a sale recently too so might have leftovers) and fabulous customer service: national home furnishings its on Route 9, 5mins outside lakewood.
Im sorry I cannot help you with movers since we did that alone. Good Luck!

For movers, I used M. Bakin (sp?) for two moves within Brooklyn. For appliances, try Town Appliance (Schreiber) in Lakewood. We ordered everything over the phone and they deliver. Their prices (combined with the out-of-state sales tax savings) were very good, and they have excellent customer service.

Thanks for all of these suggestions.
we need 2 bed frames/headboards, a dresser, eventually a dining room set, couch and recliner, desks,
washer/dryer stackable, kitchen table and chairs...
