I've heard her classes are very inspiring. A few of my friends have gone and have gained a lot from it.

I forget the brand she recommends- not a Kitchen Aid. Maybe the Magic Mill or Bosch? (FYI: there is a book you can get at the library called "The BRead Bible." The first chapter is all about different equipment for breadmaking and the author spends a few pages discussing different mixers and which are good).

Her name is devorah heller, she calls herself the Challoh Maven, not the challoh lady, and she uses, sells and recommends the Magic Mill. Her classes are great, but keep in mind they are not breadmaking classes. They are mostly about the halochos, philosophy and meaning of hafroshas challoh. Actually making the bread is secondary, and you don't do that in the class. She pre-prepares the dough for you to use in the class, though she shows you how she does it in the mixer. (Big deal: take the ingredients, throw them in, turn it on and let 'er rip.) Oh, and she is very, very funny in a dry, matter-of-fact way.

Thanks for the tip on the bread book. I will see if my library has it. always helpful to get an expert's opinion.
