If you are serving a smooth soup (with no chunks of any vegetables), I think terra stix look really pretty on top and are tasty.

I tried the puff pastry idea w/ paprika from the family first- the paprika just mushed so didn't look pretty, but the shapes of dough looked so nice!
also, if it's a thick soup, put some french fried onions ontop for added flavor and crunch. (hadar has them now if you're makpid on hasgacha and don't want to use the non jewish brand).
