a 4 year old boy spent 30 minutes locked in a school bus yesterday
The driver discharged several kids at a yeshiva and 38 minutes later he went into
a supermarket near his home .
the boy was tired and lay down to sleep.
his parents said .AS Zelenyy stopped the bus , yitzhak woke up , his parents said "he saw the driver out the window and tried to get his attention, but the driver didn"T notice him .
The boy grabbed the attention of several passerby by calling through the window

It has happened a few times in Israel (not with Yeshiva children) with not such happy endings, particularly in the summer.

It's happened numerous times in more than one place. Drivers are supposed to walk thru the bus after the last stop to check for any stragglers but obviously they don't all do that. Some of them just turn around and eyeball the bus, so they can't see a child who is lying down.

nowadays in NY you'll see my school buses have a sign in the back window..."this bus was checked for sleeping children." I hope they really do check
