My cleaning lady just left and I noticed a brown (?burnt) mark on my ironing board and wet shmattes that were brown sitting right next to it. When I picked up my iron (it was laying on the floor shock ) it was filthy on the bottom (ironing plate). I haven't noticed any ruined clothes yet so I'm thinking maybe she just left it face down on the board for too long and then tried to clean it up.
How do I get it clean so that it doesn't stain my clothes next time I use it?

I don't think I have any. I might have brillo pads (with soap) would that work?

They spell special cleaning solutions for irons. I would be wary of ruining the non stick bottom with steel wool.

And they really work. You just have to follow directions on how to use it. I've only every seen it in a tube, but it might come other ways, too. You use it with a hot iron. Google iron cleaner.

Take a hard sponge that u use for washing the dishes (if u wash it by hand, not through a dishwasher). Any company is fine. Don't make it wet just scrub the iron when its dry. Good luck!
