It is a lot - much too much, actually. There is something wrong with the recipe. I tried it with 4 cups of sugar and about double the amount of lemon juice and it was so sweet that no one wanted more than one bite. I would try 5 1/2 tablespoons instead of cups if I thought of making it again.

I thought it was just me! Mine also came out way way too sweet. I halved the recipe but used those proportions.
