My 13 month old sleeps through the night (thanks to Ferber's method, it worked). He goes to sleep around 7:30pm or 8:00pm and wakes up at 5:30am all cranky and in a bad mood. I try to put him back to sleep but it never works so he's up until like 9:00am and then takes his first morning nap. I'm just tired of him waking up in such a bad mood. I tried putting him to sleep a little bit later, and he still wakes up so early! How should I make him sleep for at least another hour?

Do you think it's the sun coming up and shining in the window or the birds starting to chirp that makes him wake up then? (Just a thought - 5:30 is about when netz is right now...)

my daughter did the same thing. I tried leaving her in there with some toys, don't even go in, until she started really crying, and she started waking up later!
