some say ultra (not the brand) and some not, what does the ultra do?

I think ultra means that it's concentrated, and you can use less per load.

It's supposed to be more concentrated so you would be able to use less, but the amount they suggest never works for me. I always end up using at least 2 cap full of the detergent. (Even with the name brands.)
