I've frozen meatballs, meatsauce, etc. But I wanted to freeze cooked, spiced ground meat (to use for something like shepherds pie in the future) Does the meat freeze well not in a sauce, or does it get dried out?

It will freeze just fine. Make sure to wrap in cling wrap first and then in freezer bag. Good luck.

Why cling wrap before freezer bags? Doesnt that defeat the purpose of paying more for freezer bags?

to keep any moisture close to the meat, prevents ice crystals forming in the bag. Even freezer bags absorb 'freezer burn' smell if stored over 10 days.

THanks, it's in a container in the freezer. I plan on using it within 10 days. I hope it will taste ok-if not I can always make it into meat sauce.

I've never noticed. Guess I'll try your method and see if it makes a difference.
