Thanks for all the replies!
I would consider the melatonin but only as a last resort. I think I am going to try bed-training him first, since he really is ready. We just have to find him a toddler bed that will fit in place of his crib first. (Any suggestions for buying in Israel? 2nd hand is fine too!)
He is not nursing, so no caffeine from there.
He does semi-understand the concept of reward. But we have tried sticker charts for other things, like shema and mitzvos (along with his older sibs) and he jsut wasn't interested. He'll often repeat back to me randomly "Mommy, I stayed in my crib so I get a sticker?", so that shows me that he does chap. But either he doesn't care enough to make it happen or the time span from night till morning is just too large for him to grasp.
