Can I freeze tongue?

I just bought tongue for yom tov and I would like to cook it and freeze it. Is this something I can do? should I slice it before freezing? Should I just put it in freezer now and cook it a day or 2 before I need it. I rather prepare in advance. thanks.

I always cook it, slice it and then freeze and its delicious.
