Why can't I make a normal chocolate chip cake?
If I mix the choc chips into the batter, they all sink to the bottom.
I thought I would be smart and just place them on top of the batter figuring they might sink a little, but they all just stayed there right on top!

I've read a tip somewhere: IIRC, you toss the choco chips with flour before mixing them into the batter.
Never tried it, but let me know if it works next time.
Oh, and save me a piece! I'm drooooling

GR, do you have that problem with raisins or nuts? Maybe mini chips would be better for you...

I prepare the "Yellow Cake" recipe in Kosher Palette I (pg. 222)
Then I add 12 ounces of chocolate chips to the batter and mix together.
I follow all the baking directions in the recipe.
The chocolate chips don't sink!
I've never tried it with the frosting that goes with it.
It tastes great! Everyone in my family loves it!

That's what mini chocolate chips are for--banana bread! Yum! A shabbos morning favorite among my kids.

I have sprinkled chocolate chips on the top and cut them in with a knife, almost like you would a marble cake.
