I'm finding it really hard to come it with a good gift for my nine year old. He outgrew lego sets, I don't want to buy sports/outdoor gifts in the winter and I'm totally stumped.
Wondering if anyone tried the dance pad that does not attach to a computer. I do not like when my kids have computer access without me in the room. I saw it last year when I was shopping for Chanukah but I did not want to buy it until I hear from people who tried it out.
Any good gift ideas or reviews on the dance pad?

What about an mp3 player? I have the Twist and Shpring dance mat, I think he's a bit old for it, my younger kids like it more.

He's the perfect age for a remote control helicopter.

We recently got a catalog from a company called Mindware. It's an educational company , and my 9 year old DS went crazy for so many things. I was happy it was non- electronic!
We got him three books of dot-to-dot activities that are intricate and difficult ( think, over 1000 pr drawing), and he loves them. Plus building sets and experiments.
If he's into building and things like that, you may do well with this company. Hatzllocha!
