Swimming with ear tubes

can I send my daughter for swimming lessons (her head will b underwater) if she has tubes in her ear?

I'm not sure about while they're still in, but after the tubes come out, it's recommended that they use plugs in their ears while swimming. I would definitely ask the pediatrician or ENT.

there are special ear plugs and/or headbands that go over and/or in the ears ... my niece had them

Silicone ear plugs with either a band (normally made from wet suit material) or a silicone swimming cap pulled down over the ears. That is the advice from several ENTs our boys have had and it has worked a treat.

If water goes in her ears with the tubes in they will probably bleed. It happened to my son in the bathtub. He forgot and was playing. Don't get scared. But you should not let your child go swimming with tubes unless they have ear plugs in.
