What's the connection between all episodes on CBS Blue bloods(I watch on line CBS)..Just don't get what the new episodes have to do with the Chassidish Rebbes...PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didnt watch the new one yet, but as with any other law/crime show, each episode is about a separate case. the family story line might be continuing, but the case part of the story is not usually continuing.
