How can I get banana stains and oil stains out of clothes?

The title says it all.

I've splashed oil down the front of one of my most useable tops. Is there any way of getting it out?

Also, my baby is going through a stage of taking off her bib while eating and smearing whatever food she's eating over her clothes. The only stain I can't get out is banana. Ace bleach works on whites but what for colours?

for the oil, rub good quality dish soap in before washing. make sure the stain is out before you put it in the dryer - you may need to wash more than once.

Better yet...DON'T put it into the dryer! Good dishsoap and/or lemon juice.

Thanks! Haven't got a dryer so no worries there!

I have already put both through the wash though Sad

The extra wash shouldn't damage it. But let it soak in soapy water or lemon juice over Shabbat and wash again on Sunday.

I've never heard of banana stains ...

but use some baking soda added to detergent along with some elbow grease

[p.s. your title does not say it all - cause you added oil splatters]

If we're having a real messy food adventure, at home, yeah the best thing is just to strip the baby. But that's not always practical. E.g. mooching from big sister's snack in the park.
