I had chicken in the oven for about 20-30 minutes. My oven started smoking, so I took it out, let the oven cool down for about 45 minutes (maybe an hour?) and then put the oven back in to finish baking.
Do you think it's ok? I had the a/c on and my house wasn't too hot.

I think it's fine ... you didn't leave it out all day and I'm sure it took time to start cooling off before you baked it again
I'm more concerned as to why the oven was smoking

Thanks. Didn't know if there was any bacteria issue or something...just wanted to make sure.
It's an electric oven and something spilled on the electric grate thing on the bottom.

As long as it wasn't kept out more than an hour, you should be fine. Ovens smoking are pretty normal with spills.
