hi - I am looking for instructions for the readers digest diet. I learned about it from here and googled it. I understand the basic diet but I have not been able to find instructions on what to eat each day. I would prefer not to buy the book and would really appreciate if someone can give me step by step instructions. It seems to be a 21 day diet so if I start now I could loose by Chanuka! I have been doing Weight Watchers but I am at a standstill and not loosing anything now even though I am following the plan. I really have 20 lbs. to loose but would be thrilled with 10 lbs. at this point. It seems that my body needs a drastic change in the food I eat so I am really interested in starting this diet. Also, if you did this diet - did you loose? Was it hard to follow? Thanks!!!!

I'm the one who mentioned it. I didn't buy the book because I don't like my meals planned for me. I read the general guidelines in the magazine, and tried to follow the pointers in their articles.
If you want the menus, buy the book! It probably costs less than what you have spent on WW, and your goals are worth it!

Try the 17 day diet. you can google it and get exact instructions without buying book. Basically, it changes every 17 days. It is easy to follow and you lose about 10 lbs. in 17 days if you are really good. you are NOT hungry. start each day with lemon water. drink 8 cups water a day. (flavored) green tea with every meal. unlimited lean protein and vegetables. 2 probiotics (yogurt) and 2 fruits daily. 17 minutes of exercise.

Yes, but more slowly. Since I first read about it and started trying to incorporate the ideas into a regular lifestyle, I have lost about 17 pounds in a year, and maintained (with some ups and downs) for anothr year. But I lost the first 10 in 2 months.

My husband and I did this diet after purchasing the book. We found the ingredients expensive and lost very slowly. Eventually we gave up. Maybe the results would have improved if we had continued.
