We just moved into a new apartment that has those real cheap wood floors. They are getting scratched from everything. I put pads on the bottom of chairs but is there a way to remove the scratches

If the wood needs the color to match, try using Old English wood polish. It comes in light or dark, and works like a charm. You can buff it in with a cotton ball.

You'll eventually want to get a wax sealer for the floor. There are some really good non toxic beeswax polishes out there that won't make your house full of fumes for months. They cost a bit more, but they are SO worth it! (I wish I could remember the name of the brand I used. That was years ago.)

Fill in the scratches by rubbing with either the meat of a walnut or a crayon in a matching shade.

When I bought my kids the 64-count Crayola box, I abstracted all the brown//tan ones except for one, and replaced them with colors from the 8-count box. The kids are grown, the Crayolas long gone, but I still have those brown crayons to use on floors and furniture.

what do you consider a cheap wood floor ... how thin is it ? is it solid wood ?

if it's solid wood you can sand it & refinish it with several coats of polyurethane

if it's fake wood - not so much
