hi I have two questions
1)how do you organize your daughters bows/headbands/pony tail
right now they are all jumbled in a ziploc bag drives me crazy
2) I have a 3 year old kih and an 11 month- they just got alot of new toys from chanuka, what do you do with '"old toys" (ha like 3 years old is old..) that they dont play with ?

to answer your second question- if you think the second kid will play with the toys when older you can put them away. If space is an issue or you don't want to keep the toys for whatever reason you can try selling them if they are in good condition or see if there is a local toy gemach. We have one in my neighborhood and it's great! I got some toys from them and now that my daughter doesn't need them I plan to give them back and let someone else enjoy! ( returning toys is NOT require at the local gemach)

I asked the hosiery store for several of those plastic strips they keep the bows on and I hung them on nails in dd's closet. Headbands are wrapped around a paper towel roll or thrown in a big bin so they're not squashed.
Cycle the toys by putting some in the attic and taking them down in a few months.

You can use any containers or baskets for the hair stuff. You can get really nice ones or really cheap ones like from the dollar store. The nicer ones will look good on the dresser, or else you can keep it in the closet. To organize it more, use separate ones for each category.

I took an old large oatmeal container (cleaned out well of course), and use that to hold headbands. You can decorate it so it matches the room, or have your DD help decorate- Clips and bows go inside.

Just came across this thread and since
I had a similar question, thought I'd bump it.
For those that decorated the oatmeal container or paper towel roll, can you please post a pic or explain. I have zero creativity and all I can think of is something like wrapping paper. But wouldn't that tear from the headbands? Thanks

You can use duct tape to cover the paper towel rolls.

I personally love the Container Store's see through containers. They have all sizes, even half shoe box size which is great. They stack beautifully and are see through and most of all VERY reasonable.
