I want to make cutlets on the grill tonight.
Does anyone have an easy sauce recipe?
Unless someone answers me soon, it's probably too late for a marinade.

Sensational Meat Marinade (from RecipeBazaar)
mix together:
2 cups dry red wine
1/2 cup olive oil
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
2 teaspoons ground ginger
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon oregano
pour marinade over meat (or chicken)
cover and refrigerate 2-4 hours
when grilling brush marinade over meat a few times to provide maximum flavor
you can do other stuff with the marinade afterwards, boil it down till it's a sauce
this is DELICIOUS, and yes it is definitely great for chicken too, in fact I don't think I ever used it for meat, only chicken

I'm going to try this tonight, but I will substitute:
- will use white wine instead of red wime
- will use more garlics (I've already minced more)
- will use artificial sweetner instead of sugar.
Will post back the results

I made this for Shabbos a few times and had a l ot of compliments. Mix together apricot jam, ketchup and soy sauce , a sprinkle of garlic powder and onion powder. ( didn't measure, use your good judgement) Pour over chicken and bake uncovered about an hour or so until browned and done. Enjoy (I baked it on 350).

So, I used ur recipe but made a few changes (to suit the contents of my cupboards). tHis was how I made the recipe for 3-4 chicken breasts no skin no bones. Grilled in under the oven grill on 200 degrees.
1 cups sweet red wine
1/6 cup olive oil
1/2 cup soy sauce
NO brown sugar
2 teaspoons ground ginger
5 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon marjoram
It was absolutely DELICIOUS! My Dh took the left overs in a wrap for lunch the next day.
Highly recommended!!
Thanks "carrot"

Thanks so much Carrot, for posting this!
I made it for all my Bar Mitzvah guests, and I think this dish was the biggest hit... SO yum!
The only change that I made, was that I didn't have any dry red wine, so I used red cooking wine instead.
This recipe is DEFINITELY a keeper

Yes. Ask for dry red wine for cooking. It's usually about $5-$6.

Another super easy marinade that works great for chicken..
freshly squeezed juice from 1/2 orange
salt & pepper
a bit of olive oil
You can jazz it up with herbs, minced orange zest, minced garlic, mustard, a bit of honey if you want it sweeter...

Funny, this thread has now been revived in 4 separate years!
I LOVE the grilled chicken mustard marinade on overtimecook.com. No time to hunt it down to post now but if anyone's on this thread looking for something great and a little different, go search for it. I usually serve it over salad with a little drizzle of honey mustard dressing.
