I'm wearing a simple, but elegant gown for my niece's wedding. a lace overlay "coat" over a black satin A-line dress. I am one of those "size sixteen" ladies,  and the lace overlay doesn't close (it's not meant to, no buttons or closures, but maybe it's a bit more open than I'd like, unless that's what it's supposed to be). Should I close it with a diamond-look pin? Or wear a strand of pearls, or get a diamond look necklace to go? Or a pendant to fill the gap (LOL).
How long should the strand of pearls be, if that's what I wear? Can pearls be worn at the neckline, and an additional necklace, or pendant added? what color pearls would look nice? Time is limited, and I want to pick something out today.

I wore a somewhat open gown at a wedding and wore a 16" necklace that looked beautiful. It was sterling silver with CZ (looked like white gold and diamonds), and scalloped around the neck.
I personally don't like pearls in 16"
