I am copying the names of websites I sent to parents of my class. Some should be helpful. In addition, you could try the website that goes with our text: mathk8.nelson.com. Click on "Companion Sites", then whatever grade, like grade 4, then Student Center, then Surf for More Math. You then hit on whatever chapter you want to practice and up will come some games you could try. Here are some more:

Multiplication:

http://www.multiplication.com/.....s.htm

http://www.mathmastery.com/cyberchallenge/

http://www.aplusmath.com/games......html (great for timing)

http://www.funbrain.com/football/index.html (multiplying decimals)

http://www.funbrain.com/math/

http://www.oswego.org/ocsd-web......html (timed tests- try the "mixed" version)

http://weeklyreader.com/kids/g.....y.asp

http://www.resourceroom.net/Ma.....l.htm (x table practice)

Multiples and Factors
http://www.bbc.co.uk/education......html

http://www.quia.com/cb/8436.html (great game)

Good luck. If you want something specific, let me know.

Grade 3, but I do remedial for grade four and I tutor two kids in grades five and six, so I guess I'm all over the map. Let me know how it goes.

topping up an old thread.

I posted in another thread but my kids school recently enrolled in an online math tutoring programme, kids enjoy playing "games" and collecting points. I think individual parents would pay for monthly subscription. Age group 5-13yrs.

Kids with LD benefit from the same games as everyone else, just if they are behind in an academic subject they should be playing the games that are at their level.

There are also therapeutic-level "games" and programs that strengthen the underlying brain functions that are often involved in LD. I prefer to discuss them personally since they are more specific to the individual client's needs. If you PM me we can set up a time to talk; I don't charge for an initial shmooze with imamother friends Smile

I also have a long list of iPad apps for every occasion, if anyone's interested. I haven't finished organizing the list yet, so if you want a recommendation please let me know specifically what you're looking for.
