I am looking to buy a new vacuum cleaner. any recommendations? I am willing to spend a decent amount and I do not want a canister type because it is just too clumsy...

also- those robot ones- do they really work and get the job done or is it just more of an in btwn cleaning type of thing? like does it really get rod of the dust under the beds and things like that?

tia!

I like my Eureka! I live in a small but fully carpeted apartment and I find it is very strong and versatile. It's also purple.

It is very small and easy to carry around.

Dyson!!

I have this:

I know you don't like the canister, but this vacuum is amazing! It's also super light weight and pushes so easy when vacuuming even your 2 year old can help vacuum Smile

I have this one: http://www.amazon.com/Eureka-M.....KOFEC

It looks even smaller in the pics... It's about a foot long.

We don't have a pet, but we do have allergies, so I wanted the filter (it filters out allergens)

I have a central vacuum system and wouldn't trade it for anything else. No machines just a long hose that plugs into the wall.

I have a roomba and I love it. I'm not the kind of person who would vacuum daily, but with the roomba I really run it very frequently. I don't have carpeting in my house so I don't get heavy dust buildup, but it does a great job on my hardwood floors. It will obviously only clean under furniture with enough clearance to let it, so for example it can't fit under my baby's crib because it's too low to the floor. But it's the same with a manual vacuum. There are other threads on roomba, do a search.

Have you seen the kick plates? Yup, it's an investment worth drooling over.

Some people love the bagless others say it's hard to clean the vacuum. I tried so many different ones thru the years now we got the Miele
