I want to make my kugel tonite but don't have
room in the fridge. Is it ok to leave it out on the
counter ?

Isn't it made with eggs? I would not leave it out overnight. You might be able to leave it on the lowest setting in the oven overnight. I believe that's how they make overnight kugel.

No!!! Maybe turn it into an overnight kugel. Pour a half cup water directly onto the kugel. Cover tightly. Leave it in the oven overnight on 225 or 250.

Cake is made with eggs too. I assume there's another reason?
But I'm with overnighting.

Don't really want to make an overnight kugel.
Didn't think it would be a problem. If I make it
In the morning it sits out all day.

You're right, but moist cake should be refrigerated, so maybe it's the moistness of the eggs, whatever chemistry the eggs have when they're not dried out?

Wouldn't the potatoes also need refrigeration?

They would, at least when they're mixed with other things, I think.
Bottom line, OP, either make room in your fridge, leave it in the oven overnight, or make it tomorrow, but don't leave it out.
