I'm trying to find a chemical free mattress for the Franklin & Ben Arlinton 3 in 1 crib. Organic would be ideal but they are so pricey so I'm trying to figure out if I can get away with "natural". I happened upon the Lullaby Earth Lightweight mattress and wondering if people have used it and liked it? What do you think of the following?
- have you had it for some time and find that it has kept it's shape? some on amazon complain it's lumpy or sags where their baby sleeps
- do you recommend the one stage (infant only) or 2 stage (infant and toddler side)? the toddler side is softer. Is it worth it to spring for the 2 stage or are toddlers just as comfy on the infant one?
- has the mattress cover held up well without tearing? someone on amazon said theirs had a tear.
- do you recommend Lullaby Earth or Naturepedic? They're made by the same company and Lyllaby Earth is the non-organic, less expensive version that has the same green certifications. I'm wondering if anyone found that Naturepedic is better quality, or more comfortable for baby or if they're essentially the same.
- have you had good experiences with the fact that it's foam (vs coil)?
- the cover is waterproof so some people said that mattress covers are not needed. Less to buy and wash. Others said it's needed to keep baby comfortable because the cover is like a shower curtain. Advice?
- has anyone ever found a good organic mattress that doesn't cost an arm and a leg or is this pretty much the closest?
If you have insight into any of this I'd appreciate it. TIA!
