I am not commenting on any specific case, but just want to point out that NYS civil law does not allow for a judgement of divorce to be granted until all parenting and financial issues are resolved. From what I understand most batei dinim have the same provision, that a get is not issued until all end of marriage issues are resolved.
"For any divorce action filed after October 12, 2010, grounds may be true no fault under section DRL 170(7).....
No judgment of divorce shall be granted unless and until the economic issues of equitable distribution of marital property, the payment or waiver of spousal support, the payment of child support, the payment of counsel and experts' fees and expenses as well as the custody and visitation with the infant children of the marriage have been resolved by the parties, or determined by the court and incorporated into the judgment of divorce."
