I'm looking for a set that has just dinner plate, salad plate & soup bowl. don't need the teacups or saucers or whatever. does such a thing exist? I can't seem to find this anywhere. also, preferably under $50-60...if that's not asking too much. 
(anon b/c I'm asking e/o irl too)

Do you meant $50-$60 per setting, or in total?? How many settings do you need?

I dont know any details but someone was telling me about a place brookyln where they sell china sets for very cheap and you can find matches for your old sets or new sets and only buy what you want. I dunno how much it costs but was supposed to be cheaper by at least half and you can get however many sets you want vs. setting for 12.
maybe someone else here has more info

I honestly don't know of anything that inexpensive. You're talking $10 a setting? since you're not looking for complete settings (as traditionally sold) you'd best be looking at open stock. I'm thinking perhaps an outlet (or online outlet) but honestly, even an inexpensive dinner plate can cost you $10! Wish I had more ideas......

Try Walmart. I got service for 4 for $29. you could get 2 sets
