I'm being kicked off my current insurance and need to apply thru Obamacare. EmblemHealth is the only insurance my ob takes. (I'm not pregnant but still need him for annual exams.) My GP takes it as well. Does anyone have experience with this insurance? Is it generally accepted in boro park? (I know that different cities have different insurances that become popular with most dr in that city. Like if I'll need any specialist will I find one in bp that accepts it?) What lab is EmblemHealth affiliated with? I am completely clueless about this company. Any info will be very much appreciated.
Thanks

I have Emblem from the exchange. Note, Emblem on the exchange and regular Emblem are two totally different animals, so you need to find out if these doctors accept not only Emblem, but the Emblem exchange.
I am actually pretty pleased with the company and the plan, considering this is only the first year in. I chose the "Gold" plan because of the low deductible, but the rules about what is covered and for how much are confusing. There have been kinks and several calls to customer service--who are exceptionally friendly--but they were easily ironed out. Plus, it's half of what I used to pay in the private arena.
My new GP sent my labs to Quest Diagnostics

Thanks!
I'm happy to hear they are with Quest that's the lab I've used till now. Ob says they only accept EmblemHealth that's not hip/medicaid. Do you have any idea if the exchange is included in hip/medicaid?
Also I see that I have the price quoted for the silver plan. Is the gold plan more?

The Emblem exchange plan is backed by HIP, so you'll need to find new doctors. Which STINKS, I know. Sift through the doctors on the plan, google them. Ask the women here. So many of us live in Boro Park I'm sure you can find suggestions.
I don't remember the difference in price between the silver/gold, but gold is higher. The plans range in cost this way: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum. Bronze is the least expensive, Platinum the most.
When I went to choose a plan from the exchange I kept in mind my usual health-care needs (which means more than one Dr. visit a year, medication coverage, tests I always need run, stuff like that) so I knew I'd need a lower deductible.

Awww sucks! How can I be sure? I called YVY facilitated enrollment and they told me that it's not hip/medicaid it's under Obamacare. Could be they had no clue what they're talking about?
I went on Emblems website and searched for obs under hip/medicaid and saw that my ob is listed as a provider (Dr. Klinger). How can I verify this? Their office has no idea if the exchange is considered hip/medicaid maybe I need to talk to their biller?

Speak with the biller.
Also, when you're looking at plans are you able to see the doctors for that particular plan? You should be able to do that.
