I'm not sure what I bought ... looking for an easy recipe for a pickled dark turkey pastrami roast.

I honestly bought this by mistake! Has anyone ever tried this?

Off topic but did you get it at kosher west?

no,at NPGS - why?

I bought lots of meat and chicken when I went shopping and I thought I picked up a veal roast. Now I'm stuck with this turkey pastrami thing -- and it's pickled, so I have no idea what to do with it!

B e cause I was talking to someone at kosher west about it yesterday... would have been funny.

Are the spices on it? I would cook it slowly at about 300 on a rack over a cookie sheet to collect drippings.p

This can be done for any pickled pastrami roast.
Sauté a lot of sliced onions in a pot. when brown add some flour- about 2-4 tbs. and brown a bit. Omit the flour if you don't like a thick gravy. Add roast and water to cover. Cook until done. I boiled the roast first, drained the water and then added it to the onions because I find it to spicy otherwise. After cooking u can blend the onions for a smoother gravy. You can also bake it in a pan in the oven.
I make either a chicken, turkey or beef pastrami roast. It wouldn't be yom tov for my husband without it Smile
Remember to cook turkey and chicken less time than a beef roast

I bought a pickled chicken pastrami roll and rinsed it real well. Then I placed it in a Reynolds roasting bag, tied it w a twist tie included and made 6 slits on bag. Placed it in roasting pan and covered well. Baked in 350 degree oven , half hour per pound. It was yum and soft.
