I made the honey cake from the purple spice and spirit book and I thought I followed the directions exactly and now my honey cake is beautiful and moist on the outside and totally dry on the inside. Very dense and dry. I'm so upset. I spent so much on the honey I used and everything! Now I need to make another one. Any tips ladies?

been there done that.
same recipe
sometimes is amazing, other times is very dry as you are describing.
I wish I could work out why sometimes its good, sometimes not...

Just made it into half cake and the rest muffins which the kids ate and loved. I added more oil than it called for bcz it seemed like too little so I referenced the kosher palette recipe

perhaps I should try the kosher palate one next. I cant afford to buy another 2 cups of Honey to toss into the garbage

There is a recipe on here by pink tichel. It is easy and really good.
