Does anyone know if there is a limit to how long one can stay on Welfare / Cash Assistance??

Federally funded, unless you're referring to a child-only situation, lifetime limit of 60 months. In NY, however, you are transferred to state aid after that.

And whats the difference between State aid and welfare? Im on welfare now because thats the only way I was able to get vouchers for my children... Will I fall off the vouchers then?

Sorry for sounding dumb, How does welfare work? I live in NJ and I don't think I ever heard of people going on welfare.
