Anyone's child ever had it? How long did it last, and did they have any long term affects from it?

I found this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henoch–Schönlein_purpura

It's usually clears up on it's own, but you need to watch very closely for kidney function issues.

Refuah sheleimah to your little one!

My son had it. It lasted about 6 weeks. It began with a small rash on his leg. The rash spread up his legs and then up his torso. When it first started, we had to go for full blood tests and urine analysis. Then we did weekly urine tests to keep an eye on kidney function. About 2 weeks after it cleared we repeated the tests to make sure everything was fine.
There were no long term effects at all, B"H.
He also had a small cold with the rash and was irritable.
He had to take motrin throughout to control the swelling.

Has anyone else dealt with this with their child?
