having grown up in various brooklyn apartments I can attest to some of them having multiple bathrooms - considering there were a crew of us I cannot imagine life without at least 2
in our current situation - 1 bathroom is all there is - but I guess there's always the bathtub for a quick emergency pee - flush it with bleach & you're all set
if not there's the fire hydrant out of doors

Yeah cuz we don't know what an out house is.
I think I should rent a porta-potty! Constipated kid on toilet, is not OK when 2 adults need the pot desperately at the same time. Uh uh. We gotta move.

we have one toilet with 5 pple so far and about to toilet train my youngest - I think thats when I will find it hard, so far it is fine. Sometimes there is a line of kids after dinner yelling for the other to come out..but that's the fun of it.

7 people, one bathroom...
It's crazy, we're looking to move, not easy either.
We stagger showers, that's not a problem

I had no idea they still sold!!
One toilet is totally liveable under a certain number of people (how much? not sure). It does take courtesy and manners. You don't get to stay half an hour in the toilets unless no one else needs. You don't go, as I read on this forum, to escape reality or because you think you "will need".

When I am pregnant it is worse than when a 3 year old has an emergency! DH has to give advance notice if he plans to use it for an "extended period" and he still has me rushing him afterwards.
(He jokes I should get a portable Jane...)

We live in a four bedroom apt in a building with three toilets, one bath/shower and one shower. Bh, I'm very grateful, but I wish we also had a urinal .
