We are considering sending our son there next year. Can anyone tell me what kind of education they offer, what their teaching methods are, and whether their parent body is all of one like minded hashkafah or a variety?
Thank you.

Uim.. I don't want to speak negatively with specifics. I would just say that Rabbi Horowitz has nothing to do with the school anymore- so I urge you to speak to parents who are there now and have been there for a long time.

Same as emerald said.
What type are you? Do u have a TV at home?
I don't send there but I know many ppl that do. The majority of ppl j know who send there have a TV and r slightly more to the left. I think of it as the more modern ysv crowd. As far as how they teach....I don't know however just so u know they r on the lowest level of learning from all the mainstream monsey schools.
I do know that they will work with a child who has issues very well though.

Actually that's not even what I meant. Crowd is a mix ..tvs and no tvs (my kids classes were 50/50)with some really amazing dedicated parents. Learning was good.. Kids generally get into same high schools as ysv. (ShareiTorah/Ohavei/Heichal and others). Secular studies is not great -but no different than ysv boys which is also not great. but the hanhala has changed drastically in the past 5 years. Thus, what was unique about YDN - sensitivity, hanhala who got education and psychology, no bullying allowed etc... is no longer there. Very hard for us parents who have been there 10+ years and I have a few friends who have been there forever but just recently pulled out and sent elsewhere -ysv/Ashar/ynj

This might not be relevant anymore but I was searching for info - non academic more about the hanhallah and families - on YDN and saw this thread.
Just in terms of the comment saying its the lowest learning wise mainstream Monsey schools - That has NOT at all been my impression from friends and neighbors who send there!

Bump. Any new info? How big are the classes? What's the hashkafa? Do they work with parents and kids? More yeshvish or chassidish rebbeim?
