Hi,
Im having a lot of guests this Shabbos and I bought a brisket hoping I would find a good recipe online. Ive found a few so far but need one that is really amazing and that you can almost swear by.
Im always so nervous experimenting with meat so any suggestions would be really appreciated!
Thanks!

lots of onions under and on top of meat, mix equal parts ketchup and duck sauce and pour on top (use a lot!)

cover tightly, bake at 350 for a while, like 4-5 hours. the longer it cooks the softer it gets.

MINUTE ROAST (or brisket)
Ingredients:
2 large onions
10 cloves garlic, sliced
5 lb minute steak
3 Tbsp oil
2 tsp paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
1 cup apricot preserves
1 cup ketchup
1 cup dry red or cooking wine
4 Tbsp onion soup mix
½ cup honey
1½ tsp whole black peppercorns

Directions:
Preheat the oven to 400F.
Slice the onions and garlic and place them in the bottom of a large roasting pan. Rinse the meat and place it on top of the onions and garlic.
Rub the oil, paprika, and garlic powder onto the surface of the roast.
Combine the apricot preserves, ketchup, wine, onion soup mix, honey and peppercorns.
Pour the sauce over the roast and cover the pan tightly. Bake for 3 hours, or until meat is tender. Test the meat by pricking it with a fork.

I used this recipe on a 2.5 lb brisket and cooked it for 4 hours on 325. It smelled delicious and came out looking great! I hope it tastes just as good!
