Does the same apply to powdered formula? I bought a big thing 5 months ago b/c I couldn't find any of the singles and needed for Tisha Bav. I BF and it's just been sitting around for months.

That's what I'm referring to. The can is powdered, and I breastfeed.

Read then directions on the can. I'd say when in doubt definitely throw it out!

When I was breastfeeding and needed formula on occasion, I kept the individal on the go packets at home so that the formula was always fresh and I wasn't wasting.
It was also very convenient to grab and go!

Second person w/ the unused formula. I really wanted this, but none of the nearby stores had the shlav one. There was only Shlav Two. I actually bought formula off of someone (the end of the can) b/c I thought I would only use it for one day. I still bought a big can just in case I couldn't find someone to buy some off of (found someone last minute). The store wouldn't let me return it. It was hashgacha though b/c for a few days after Tisha B'av, my milk was so low (was less than 6 weeks pp) that I needed to supplement as there was hardly any milk, but was very careful to keep trying to nurse. B"H after that EBFed and still do (except my baby is starting to eat real foods now). But, the formula is just sitting around and now she needs the next stage. OK, I guess I should just toss it? It feels like such a waste as it's almost full
