What's the closest recipe to the peanut butter rice krispies candy that's sold in stores in the star shape?

I have no interest in doing the alternating colors as sold in the stores, but I want that flavor/texture.

1 cup sugar
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup corn syrup
4-5 cups rice kris pies

Melt first 3 ingredients. Close flame and add cereal. Mix and spread in an flat pan.

I personally put in less sugar. More like 3/4 cup. Found the above too sweet. But this is the basic recipe.
