I like ahlee lulee (it is an old Jewish one) and the kids who need to be entertained during diaper changes like "Down by the Bay".

I never have one favorite song. Anything sung softly and slowly can serve. Well, maybe not acid rock or heavy metal, but those are not in my repertoire anyway. The only reason I would not use something like "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" is that I would willy-nilly grow louder and livelier as I went along and end up waking the baby instead of lulling him to sleep.

My kids like hamalach hagoel. All of the tunes...

They also like songs with words and stories, like mama rochel, and ask me to tell them the stories. So we get a bedtime story and lullaby in one.

Oh, I like a lot of Raffi songs, but for entertainment, not for lullabyes. Did you see an imamother hiding from another down by the bay?

My baby's mobile plays "lavenders blue dilly dilly" so now I've been singing that quite a bit Smile
