Recently I saw a kallahs new set of machzorim and her name was engraved onto the cover instead of gold stamped. The leather is cutted out and a lighter shade from beneath can be seen. It's not so showy than gold stamped and I think is more prone to dirt that can pile up there and water that may stain it till it dries up. Is this a new thing? Anyone heard about this one?

Haven't seen that yet, but there's always going to be something new isn't there?

sounds interesting ... are you sure it's cut out - or hot stamped just without the gold ?
I'd be interested to see how it looks ...
